The Information Resource Center (IRC) of the United States Embassy in Luanda provides reference and research services about the United States as well as bilateral U.S./Angolan issues and global issues. Please contact the IRC to assist you in your research about the United States.

• FedStats is a one-stop site for easy access to the full range of statistics and information produced by more than 70 agencies of the U.S. federal government.
• Library of Congress is the largest library collection in the world.
• Government Printing Office publishes the Federal Register each federal working day documents of record of the federal government. Final rules, regulations and decisions are cumulated annually in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
• FirstGov is the gateway site to the entire United States government on the web.
• The federal government of the United States consists of three parts: the executive, legislative and judicial branches. The executive branch is led by the President of the United States and consists of all the departments and agencies authorized by the law, such as the U. S. Department of State which handles foreign affairs. The legislative branch is the lawmaking body called the Congress that consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The judicial branch is the federal court system culminating in the Supreme Court.
